Apps like Pinterest without ads or AI: Savee and other picks for iPhone
Savee is where you save images and videos onto boards on iPhone. No ads, and no algorithm picking what you see. Preet tried it in episode 2 of Apple App Hunt on YouTube, at 4:38.
Tried on the show
Savee — Inspiration for you
Savee is where designers find, save, and share inspiration, organized into boards.
Free to download.
No ads. No algorithm. Pro is $9 a month, billed yearly: unlimited saves and boards, private boards, search by color or image, and MCP access for AI tools.
On Savee's FAQ: they don't run ads or sell your information, and people curate what you see. Pro still includes MCP access for AI tools.
Not tried on the show
Preet did not try these. The prices and features are from each company.
Cosmos
Not tried on the show
Search by color, keyword, or image, and hide AI images when you want. Free to use. Premium is $8 a month or $72 a year, on iPhone and on the web.
Cosmos calls itself ad-free. In the help center, the free account is enough and Premium is optional. A collection can stay visible only to you, unless you invite someone. You can show, blur, or hide AI-generated images. Premium adds a short username (a first name, a dictionary word, or four characters or fewer), early access, shared collections, bulk export, and a custom grid.
Are.na
Not tried on the show
Ad-free, with no algorithm, since 2011. You save links, videos, images, and text, and you can invite people into a private channel or leave it public. Free to download.
On Are.na's about page, every plan can set a channel to open, closed to collaborators, or private. Guest is free for up to 200 connections. Premium is $7 a month or $70 a year. Supporter is $120 a year. A connection means adding a block or a channel to a channel. The same block in two channels counts as two. The billing page adds reader mode and table view on Premium, and drops the 200-connection cap. Supporter includes Premium, a free Are.na Annual, investor reports twice a year, and early access.
